No services are scheduled at this time at any of the WYP churches. Letter from  Pastor Pete Carlson.

3-17-2020  Greetings,

At a meeting of the WYP Church Council last night, it was agreed that it would be best NOT to gather for worship for a period of time due to the COVID 19 (coronavirus) outbreak. As a pastor I have received several e-mails form the denominational offices (Baptist, Congregational, and Methodist) concerning warnings about gathering together for worship while the COVID 19 contamination threat is still high. We are heeding those warnings. So, at this time the three Wardsboro church buildings- the Methodist Church on Main St., the Congregational Church in South Wardsboro, and the Baptist Church in West Wardsboro, will all be closed beginning this Sunday, March 15, through Sunday, April 5th. At present we hope to reopen the Baptist Church in West Wardsboro for worship on April 12 for the Easter Sunrise (6:00 a.m. service) and Easter Service (10:00 A.M.) I will send a notification as to any changes that may occur.

While we are closed, I will try to send a weekly message— perhaps a sermon, a devotional, a prayer, scripture passages for you to read, etc.— by e-mail so that we can continue to stay in touch spiritually. I would encourage you to continue to praise and honor and glorify God with your tithes and offerings by sending them to Darlene Rutnik, the WYP treasurer.

Her address is:

Darlene Rutnik

PO Box 248

West Wardsboro, Vt. 05360

Checks may be made out to “The Wardsboro Yoked Parish”, or you can make your check out to the individual church of your choice (Methodist, Congregational, or Baptist).

I would also encourage you to e-mail (or mail ) me any joys and concerns you may have during this time away from gathering for worship so that I can keep our Prayer List up to date.

If you have any questions about this decision please e-mail me or call 802-874-4181. I thank you all for your patience, and please stay safe in your travels and gatherings in the weeks ahead.

The Methodist Church on Main St. in Wardsboro has closed indefinitely due to the need for structural repairs and renovations.

DATE MAY CHANGE - check again soon.

The annual Wardsboro Variety Show will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Wardsboro Town Hall on Main St. in Wardsboro. The show begins at 7:00 p.m.. Refreshments will be available during the intermission. The Wardsboro Yoked Parish is sponsoring the Variety Show, and the evenings proceeds will go to the church. Admission is free, but there will be a donation basket. The Variety Show is a wonderful evening of entertainment, and in the past has included tap dancers, musicians of all ages, poetry readings, storytelling, skits, karaoke, line dancing, and juggling acts. Some perennial favorites return to the stage each year to showcase their talents, but there are many new acts that perform who keep the crowd calling for more! Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of entertainment, it’s a great way to shake off the winter blues. Any questions, or if you would like to sign up to perform, e-mail.
