Notes: November 2020
G.R.O.W., the local garden club for Wardsboro and surrounding towns, wrapped up its events for the season with a perennial swap in September. This annual event, hosted by Donna Fernandes, is a great way to add new and interesting plants to home gardens. This year’s G.R.O.W. calendar was light due to cancellations caused by COVID 19. Unfortunately, many indoor events and field trips to area greenhouses were postponed until next year. Club members did host garden tours throughout June and July. The first tour was Russ Pacino’s new rock garden featuring bright annual flowers and interesting succulents. The second tour was of the magnificent park-like settings in Mike Cooney’s beautiful gardens. The last tour was hosted by Patricia Hayes starting with her gorgeous white garden and ending at her gigantic Foxglove plant.
The club is anticipating starting next year’s events in June. A calendar of events will be published in late winter. G.R.O.W. does not charge dues. Everyone is welcome to join any or all meetings. If you are interested in learning more about the club, contact the club chair for more information or to be added to the mailing list.
